Prayer
Scripture advises us to make our requests known, and that it is our Father’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom. Together we can join in prayer and petition for needs and concerns. These can include prayers for wisdom, prayers for healing and restoration, or even prayers of thanksgiving and celebration. Jesus said we can come as little children, and we can trade our sorrows for his comfort and joy.
Counsel
Scripture says that the worlds were founded upon wisdom. And in the multitude of counselors there is safety. Instead of relying on our own understanding, we are to seek godly wisdom and counsel through the scripture, his Spirit, and through wise people. Let’s explore the challenges and ‘rocks in the road’ that are blocking your path forward. Let’s invite the Lord to examine our hearts and circumstances. Let’s learn and develop our gifts, talents, and the things the Lord has already planted into your life. And let’s work together on finding deeper intimacy with Christ and serving others in deeper love.
Direction
The Lord says he knows the plans that he has for us. We can explore his plans and discover his direction for moving forward each day. As we remain willing to walk in his ways and move forward in his purpose for us, we can find a whole new adventure of being led by his Spirit. Spiritual direction involves becoming sensitive to his leading, yielding to his will, and moving in his direction. God’s direction is not just about getting fuzzy feelings or doing stuff, but about life transformation into becoming who God made you to be, and fulfilling your purposes in his kingdom.
Study
We are to study to show ourselves approved. This is how real life change and transformation happens. We would love to say a prayer and have everything changed. But God’s way is to put us through spiritual school, and practicing faith in real world situations. We are given the scriptures and even the things of creation as tools for study. The Holy Spirit can teach and train us even through our failures and difficulties in life. We just need to show up as ready and available students with an open heart and mind to learn from him.
